The suspended Congress MP and sacked Commonwealth Games-2010 Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalamadi was arrested on April 25, 2011 by CBI on charges of cheating, conspiracy and corruption in connection with awarding game contracts.

'Illegal mining due to rise in global demand for iron ore'

Ramdev threatens hunger strike against illegal mining in Goa

Panaji, Dec 10: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev today extended his support to the fight against illegal mining in Goa and warned of a hunger strike if the Congress-led Government in the state did not come clean on the issue. "We will run a campaign against illegal mining before elections (due in mid-2012). If required, I would sit for hunger strike in Goa against those involved in it.
