The god-fearing former Chief Minister of Karnataka had a bumpy ride this year after he was forced to step down from his reign following his involvement in the illegal land denotification case for monetary gains.

From what has been termed as a highly dramatic arrest to being hospitalised within few hours of being jailed, the tainted ex-Chief Minister walked free after he was granted bail by the Karnataka High Court on Nov 8, 2011. With the year coming to an end, Yeddyurappa's hopes to return back to power still remain high.

Gadkari redefines CBI; calls it Cong Bureau of Investigation

Kolkata, Dec 1: With the UPA caught in the FDI row, the Opposition is leaving no stone unturned to cause more hurt to the already hurt government. This time around, the war of words was launched by BJP President Nitin Gadkari who alleged that the Congress was using the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to settle scores with political opponents.

The country's federal investigative agency, the CBI has been renamed as 'Congress Bureau of Investigation' by Gadkari.

BSY, others granted anticipatory bail in corruption case

Bangalore, Nov 29: In further relief to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka High Courton Monday granted anticipatory bail to him and his family members in a corruption case. Allowing the petitions filed by Yeddyurappa, his two sons, B Y Ragahavendra, B Y Vijayendra and son-in-law, R N Sohan Kumar, Justice H Billappa directed them to furnish Rs 2 lakh bond and two sureties each for a like sum. Observing that petitions were "maintainable" and that the accused cannot flee from.....
