Following this landmark match, Ali-Frazier maintained an epic rivalry in the boxing history. Vijender Singh knocked out with marriage invitation, booked

New Delhi, Jul 1: The Olympic medalist, boxer Vijender Singh has been booked over using the national emblem (Ashok Chakra) on his marriage reception card.

Citing media reports on Vijender's use of national emblem on marriage reception card, a Delhi-based man Abhishek Kadyan lodged a complaint. Superintendent of police, Bhiwani, Ashwin Sainvi said that they have taken more than one month to take any action against the Indian boxing star.

Police sources said that the cops moved to a court.....

India needs Europe-like club system for boxing: Akhil

Lucknow, May 29: Former Commonwealth Games gold-medallist boxer Akhil Kumar has suggested that a club system like Europe needs to be set up in India to promote the sport and improve the standard of pugilists.

"To prepare good international level boxers the basic level of the game has to be raised in the country and glamour and money should be associated with it," Akhil told PTI over phone.

Akhil, who was conferred with the Arjuna award in 2005, said.....
