Mumbai, Oct 14: Over nineteen positive tests were recorded after nine more Kabbadi players have been tested positive during trials for the coming World Cup, said India's National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).
NADA collected 51 samples during the tournament in Ludhiana, in which 19 positive tests were recorded.
Steroids stanozolol, trenbolone, stimulant phentermine, nandrolone, methendinone and drostanolone are the prohibited substances which were found in the nine new cases. Doping cases are increasing and is becoming a major problem in Indian sport......
Chandigarh, Jul 18: The prize money for the winning team at the Second World Cup Kabaddi tournament to be held in various centres of Punjab would be doubled to a whopping Rs 2 crore, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal announced.
Badal said that the prize money for the title winners has been doubled to Rs 2 crore whereas team securing second and third positions would get Rs 1 crore and Rs 51 lakh respectively in the tournament to be held.....

New Delhi: Supporters of kabaddi -- an ancient rural Indian sport -- are trying to spread the game through Asia and hope it will eventually become an Olympic event.
Jandardhan Singh Gehlot, president of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), told Reuters, "Until it spreads in Asia, it cannot go beyond. Our heart is there (Olympics)."
Gehlot, speaking by telephone from the northwestern city of Jaipur, added, "China and Japan have started playing and we hope for Korea, too.".....
