Lahore, Dec 9 : Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is in crisis as eight players have reportedly signed contracts with the unofficial World Series Hockey league in India. Former captain Zeeshan Ashraf and Adnan Maqsood have left for India and former captain Rehan Butt, Shakeel Abbasi and Waseem Ahmed have also joined the league. The Federation has warned that the revolting players would face a life ban. "Our stance is very clear any player who decides to go and play in this unauthorised league.....

Johannesburg, Dec 4: India coach Michael Nobbs is disappointed that India lost the finals of the Champions Challenge hockey tournament from a commanding position, a victory that would have secured their entry into the elite Champions Trophy next year.

India led 2-0 and then 3-1 but allowed Belgium to come back in the last 15 minutes to 4-3 through a last minute goal by Florent van Aubel.

Raghunath's golden goal puts India in hockey semifinals

Johannesburg, Dec 1: V R Raghunath slammed a golden goal in the last minute of extra-time as India beat Malaysia 5-4 in a thrilling match to advance to the semifinals of the Champions Challenge hockey tournament here on Friday.

Raghunath sent a low shot into the left corner of the goal after a late recovery saw India level 4-4 in regulation period of the action-packed quarterfinal encounter. India will now meet in the semifinal on Saturday hosts South Africa who prevailed over Japan.....

Women's hockey team in Lanco Super series 9s final

Perth, Oct 22: The Indian women's team played out a sluggish 1-1 draw against Malaysia on Saturday but it was enough to fetch the side a place in the Lanco International Super Series Hockey 9s final.

With a draw against the hosts on Friday and full points against Malaysia on the opening day, India did enough to book a final berth in the three-nation event.

They will face Australia in the summit clash on Sunday. The experienced Jasjeet Handa put India.....
