The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sought a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe on Nov 4, 2011 into the alleged illegal mining of iron ore in the State. Ex-director Andhra mines dept jailed in illegal mining

Hyderabad, Nov 21: A special CBI court on Monday (today) extended the judicial custody of former director of Andhra Mines department, VD Rajagopal till Nov 25.

Meanwhile, Rajagopal was sent to Chanchalguda Central Jail, where Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law B.V. Srinivasa Reddy are already lodged. Earlier, on Nov 12, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested former director for granting mining licenses in 2008.

The CBI moved a petition seeking Rajagopal's custody for another week and the same.....

Janardhan Reddy's bail plea rejected on illegal mining scam

New Delhi , Nov 17: A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Thursday (today) rejected the bail petitions of former Karnataka minister and mining baron Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law B Srinivas Reddy in the illegal mining case.

Earlier, a special court on Nov 14 extended the judicial custody of former Karnataka environment minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law and Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) BV Srinivasa Reddy, till Nov 28.
