Munnabhai stunned at Gandhian 'Tharoor'

Rajesh Krishna

Gandhism, tharoor
Munnabhai won't sleep tonight, even he was stunned to hear the comments from new Gandhian 'Tharoor'.

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor has stated that no holiday be given on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday as Bapu equated work with worship.

Its a joke that a person who enjoyed his life in US for 20 years , suddenly comes one day with some shawl in his shoulders and preach Gandhism.

How can Mr Tharoor put his leg in Gandhi's shoes?

Shashi Tharoor remembers Gandhi's commitment that Work is Worship! Gandhi also emphasized: 'Simple Living and High Thinking'. How does this fit in with staying at five star hotels?

Mahatma Gandhi truly understood and embraced the value of simplicity throughout his life. He was a man who was not even ready to waste a small piece of Small pencil.

But How about this new pseudo Gandhian Tharoor.

Tharoor lived in luxury hotels and also criticised the public class of aeroplane at a time when large parts of the nation had been hit by drought.

Mr Tharoor, you are are minister by any way not a preacher. Please dont try to en-cash Gandhiji.

In-fact, he is not only a pseudo Gandhian, but also a person who is facing a court trial for insulting the national flag. While participating in a function in Kochi on December 17, Tharoor interrupted the singing of the national anthem to ask the participants to keep the right hand close to the left breast as the Americans did.

Even after all this incidences, this man shamelessly talk of nationalism. One more clever, not intelligent mind it, move to buy media attention and publicity.

Now let us get on to the issue.

Tharoor says that we enjoy holiday on Gandhi Jayanthi. To support his contention he also cites Vietnam as an example.

We have to appreciate the people of Vietnam for working on the birth day of its greatest leader Ho Chi Minh.

But Mr Tharoor should also under stand that its a single party rule in Vietnam, while India enjoys democracy. The reason for this 'enjoyment' is the great democratic values put forward by Mahatma Gandhi.

Tharoor can express his views, but he cannot force on anyone, its the true democracy. Can he do this in Vietnam?

Another concern put forward by Tharoor was that Indians now celebrate Gandhi Jayandthi as a holiday. Now let me ask a question. How many Indians remember Gandhi on all other ordinary days?

It is declared holiday, so at least some people to think of the 'Mahatma', other wise no one one will even bother to think about him.

The days of great people are marked to give inspiration to the public for doing the things which the great people did. It will definitely not be a waste to the precious time of the Indians. It will enhance their motivation to do great thing

Mr Tharoor you should understand that 'if you point one finger to somebody, three fingers points towards you'. You must not only preach Gandhism in your life, but also follow it in your life.
