Mark Twain, once said, "India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most astrictive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!"
India is celebrating its 62 years of Independence Day. It is this day, each and every Indian feels so proud about our forefathers who have sacrificed their whole lives, given us true freedom from the British-rule.
Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, Chandra Shekar Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Kasturba Gandhi and many such great freedom fighters haven’t just given us freedom but have also set an example to us that when it comes to threat to the country, we, Indians shouldn’t think twice to protect our motherland.
From the passive British-ruled colony to a slowly but surely developing super power nation, India has come a long way.
Over six decades, India has progressed tremendously, especially in the fields of economics, education, science and technology, IT, nuclear development, military operations and so on.
Although, there has been so much development in the nation, major part of the rural India is still left unnoticed.
There has been increasing number of farmers committing suicides, floods, droughts, apart from all these there is so much cultural unrest, religious divide, illiteracy, and poverty.
But yet no other economy in the world, no matter how developed it is, can function even a day with the kind of problems India is battling with.
‘India is our country and all Indians are our brothers and sisters’, lets not forget this. It is we who can bring real change in the society by being one.
Let us set an example for the upcoming generation that even we weren’t left behind in serving the nation. Wake up Indians, it isn't too late!
