Lucknow, Aug 7: Various political parties are protesting against the suspension of IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, but the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party government is defiant and justifying its decision on her suspension.

Meanwhile, the Bundelkhand's Mahila Jan Sangathan has also come out in support to seek justice for Durga. According to the organisations, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav won't be able to weaken Durga's power and his 'political end' is certain in the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

This is for the first time that India's top political parties and common public have sounded the same resonance in seeking justice for a government officer, perhaps the reason behind this unity is not that the suspended officer is an IAS or a woman, but the fact is being of an 'honest' officer.

People of the country are not ready to buy Akhilesh's story that Durga was suspended for allegedly not following due process of law while demolishing a wall of a mosque in village Kadalpur in Gautam Buddha Nagar on July 27.

Recenty, SP leader Narendra Bhati bragged during a public speech: "I spoke to Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav at 10.30 am and at 11 am the suspension order arrived... She behaved so badly and couldn't last for 40 minutes after that. Within 41 minutes, the order came from Lucknow and she was suspended."

Bhati's controversial statement was neither condemned by the SP government nor any action was taken against him, that means it is clear that Bhati had uttered the truth.

The firmness of the SP government on Durga's case has drawn opposition from the entire country, but it seems that justice is still very far away from her.

Apart from the Congress, the BJP and the Left parties, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have also stood in favour of Durga.

This case is taking the same form like anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare's Jan Lokpal Bill movement took.

In Bundelkhand, various social organisations have made sharp criticism of the Akhilesh Yadav government.

In this context, Sheelu, the chief coordinator of women organisations "Nagin gang" and "Cobra" said, "We are together in Nagpal's struggle and this decision of the SP government will 'bury' honesty."

She further said, " Since Uttar Pradesh women's sympathies are with Nagpal, that is why "Mahishasur" Mulayam won't be able to weaken Durga's 'shakti' and his 'political end' is certain in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections."

The Gulabi Gang's vice chief commander Suman Singh Chauhan said: "In an order to provide profit to sand mafias and appease a special community, Akhilesh Yadav has sacrificed an honest officer like Nagpal, whose brunt, SP will bear in Lok Sabha polls."

Another women organisation Belan Gang commander Pushpa Goswami said: "In an illusion of crashing majority, Akhilesh's government has forgotten the definition of 'licit' and 'impermissible'."

She also vowed to lodge a protest against Mulayam in favour of Nagpal.

Left political analyst Ranvir Singh Chauhan said: " These type of steps taken by any government directly affects public welfare and wilderness is caused."

He said: "Akhilesh government should immediately take back Durga's suspension order, so that a positive image of his government remains in the minds of the masses."

Now, it is to be seen who will claim victory in this fight for justice- IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal or the UP government? The answer to this question lies in future, but it is sure that, at the time, when Durga has got huge support from everyone, the Akhilesh Yadav government is only inviting trouble.
