Rahul asks party leaders to bridge gap

New Delhi, March 6: There is no dearth of talent in the Congress but the problem is lack of coordination and communication between the leaders, party vice-president Rahul Gandhi said Wednesday and called for interactive sessions up to the block level.

"Rahul Gandhi said there is no dearth of talent in the Congress party but there is a need for better coordination and communication between the leaders," a senior Congress leader told IANS.

Gandhi, who met senior All India Congress Committee functionaries here, directed them to plan interactive sessions with state, district and block level leaders on a regular basis.

The party vice-president, who has met both central and state leaders including chief ministers over the past few weeks, told the leaders that he will start state specific meetings with them in the coming days.

Gandhi also met MPs from poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram as part of his interactions with parliamentarians in the run up to the assembly polls in 2013 and the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"He said our fight is with a party (Bharatiya Janata Party) and not faces," a Congress MP from Madya Pradesh told IANS.
