Lucknow: After Tamil Nadu, the government of Uttar Pradesh with a largest population of Muslims, may also ban Kamal Haasan's 'Vishwaroopam''s Hindi version 'Vishwaroop' in the state.
A clear hint of the government's thinking was given by ruling Samajwadi Party leader Asrey Kushwaha. He said today that the movie could be banned in Uttar Pradesh if it hurts the sentiments of Muslims.
"We will not allow the release of the film in Uttar Pradesh till our Information and Broadcasting department sees it. If the movie has objectionable material, we will ban it in UP," Kushwaha said.
Not just Kushwaha, but senior SP leader Kamal Farooqi, too, has said that the state government will first see, after some changes, screening of the movie will be alright.
