New Delhi, Jan 24: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday slammed Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde over his recent remarks that Hindu fundamentalist outfits were conducting terror camps, saying it was a hasty statement and Shinde should have left it to the judiciary to make a call on the matter.
Speaking in a press conference, the BSP chief said Shinde holds an important position in the government and the issue is related to his department. She said if Shinde had any evidence, he should have placed it before the courts for there were already several cases pending before them.
Shinde's remarks spared off a massive controversy and the BJP and RSS attacked him. The saffron supporters also staged a nationwide protest against the Home Minister on Thursday.
