Modi v/s Gadkari: RSS-BJP divided?

New Delhi, Nov 12: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) seem to have divided over MG Vaidya's statement on Narendra Modi regarding anti-Nitin Gadkari campaign.

Vaidya, the RSS ideologue on Monday, Nov 12 wrote on his blog that the Gujarat Chief Minister might have led the anti-Gadkari campaign.

"Ram Jethmalani in one breath said he is seeking the resignation of Gadkari and that he also wanted to see Narendra Modi as PM in 2014," reads Vaidya's blog. Hence, Vaidya suspected that Modi could be behind anti-Gadkari campaign.

"I only said that the needle of suspicion points towards Modi. Narendra Modi might have felt that Gadkari as the BJP president will hamper his chances of becoming the Prime Minster," added Vaidya in his blog.

However, reacting strongly against Vaidya's statement on Gujarat CM, BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu on Monday asserted that Vaidya's view was "personal".

Vaidya, in his blog, also commented that Modi might have been using Jethmalani to fulfill his plans. The advocate and senior BJP leader Jethmalani had recently demanded Gadkari's resignation and had openly come out in support of Modi as party's PM candidate in 2014.
