Kolkata, Sept 20: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has been cornered. Days after her announcement that TMC would pull out support from UPA government, Congress ministers in West Bengal on Friday, Sept 21 informed that they too have decided to resign from Mamata's cabinet in the state.
The entire political scenario in the country has changed in last two days. While Trinamool Congress ministers are expected to resign from UPA cabinet in Delhi at 3 pm on Friday, Congress ministers would follow the same process in Kolkata at the same time.
However, Mamata Banerjee does need Congress' support as her party has a majority of 184 seats (out of 294). Congress' six ministers resignations will mark the end of ties between Congress and Trinamool Congress.
The TMC supremo on Tuesday declared their decision of withdrawing support from the Central Government showing their protest against UPA's decision to introduce Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail and fuel price hike.
