Mumbai, Sept 7: The Thackeray's comments on the Biharis is grabbing more and more media space with every passing day after allegations and counter-allegations were hurled at either parties. Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh had joined the slander match claiming that the Thackeray's were originally from Bihar.
Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, not the one who would take things lying down, slammed Digvijay's claim that Bal Thackeray's father, Prabodhankar had stated in his book that the Thackeray's originally hailed from Bihar. The controversial topic was mentioned in Prabodhankar Thackeray's autobiography, "Mazhi Jeevangatha" (My Autobiography).
Not a person to mince his words, Uddhav in his fierce anger said that Digvijay was a "madman" and had lost his capacity to think as he was "busy washing the dishes for an Italian". He added, "That man is mad. Don't take him seriously."
On the matter, Uddhav added, "My grandfather's book, 'Mazhi Jeevangatha' mentions that the Thackeray clan originated in Bihar, but he is talking about the community and not the family." Slamming Digvijay further, Uddhav stated that he was playing vote bank politics and that he was attempting to "exploit" Prabodhankar Thackeray's book for his own benefit.
Raining further acidic comments on Digvijay, Uddhav stated, "Digvijay claims that he now understands Marathi but his thinking capacity is reduced because he is a mere dishwasher for an Italian master."
