Liverpool, Sep 2: Arsenal and Liverpool will battle it out at Anfield as two Premier League rivals look to seal their first win in the new campaign.
The Reds home ground seems to be a hard place for any side but Arsenal look to turn it around after failing to score in the first two games while the Reds will bank on home support to clinch three points after drawing 2-2 against Manchester City last week.
Liverpool play their third home game this week with two ending in draws. Manager Brendan Rodgers failed to secure the clubs long term target Clint Dempsey, who joined Spurs on deadline day, and let Andy Carroll, Charlie Adam and Jay Spearing join West Ham United, Stoke City and Bolton Wanderers respectively.
The Reds now have only one senior striker in Luis Suarez who has been their only inspiration in attack. Defender Daniel Agger returns from suspension replacing Sebastain Coates. Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin is likely to start as midfielder Lucas Leiva is out for months.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have failed to score a single goal despite having star names like Oliver Giroud, Lukas Podolski, Gervihno and Santi Cazorla. Spain international Cazorla is their most impressive player so far, pulling the strings in midfield.
Right-back Carl Jenkinson will start as first choice Bacary Sagna is sidelined with a leg injury. Goalkeeper Vito Mannone could start in front of goal as Wojciech Szczesny and Lukas Fabianski are struggling for match fitness.
*Liverpool have won only a single game against the Gunner in last 10 meetings.
*Liverpool have picked up 19 points from 21 Premier League games.
*Arsenal are yet to score a goal this season and have the worst shooting accuracy this season.
