Agartala, May 17: The improving relations between India and Bangladesh are paving the way for development in both countries, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said today.
"Relations between the two countries are improving every day and standing on a firm base. This is paving the way for development in both neighbours," Sarkar said in his valedictory address of 151st birth anniversary celebrations of Rabindranath Tagore at the Tripura University here.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to New Delhi in 2010 and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh going to Dhaka in September last year marks the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations, Sarkar said. He said the eternal appeal of Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam for globalisation of culture would always remain an inspiration for improving the bilateral relations.
