Raipur, Apr 14: Army chief General V K Singh today visited Naxal-hit Bastar region, where Army personnel are being given training in jungle welfare.
General Singh who arrived here by a special aircraft, left for Kondagaon village in the tribal-dominated region. In Kondagaon, he visited the jungle welfare training centre, official sources said.
Around 2,000 Army jawans are currently undergoing training at the centre. General Singh saw the training and interacted with officers, they said.
The Army chief will meet Chhattisgarh Governor Shekhar Dutt and Chief Minister Raman Singh before leaving for Delhi in the evening, the sources said.
