US, Apr 13: A former company insider accused IT giant Infosys of visa fraud by bringing in Indian workers illegally to the US and violating business visa rules. [Read: How Infosys running into loss post Narayana Murthy era]
Jay Palmer, consultant for the firm was quoted as saying to the CBS that the IT-giant could have easily got a IT specialists from the country than outsourcing outsiders for the same.
Meanwhile, Infosys hit at the allegations saying that the "allegations make for an interesting story, but it is not the facts."
Palmer said that he came to know of the racket after an employee was flown down from India to US several times. After digging deep he found that he was paid less when compared to an American, who would have made a good deal of money for the same work.
He said that the US State Department began limiting H-1B visas, Infosys started using another type of visa, the B-1.
