New York, Apr 3: With the US announcing a $10 million bounty on Lashkar-e-Toiba chief Hafiz Saeed’s head, there has been some strange happening's reported in New York. A mysterious image has surfaced that suggests the return of al Qaeda to New York.
This image has shocked residents and baffled officials. The picture started appearing in certain Arabic websites, prompting the city police department and the federal authorities to look into the matter.
The image is being portrayed like a movie poster that includes an English language taunt saying, “al Qaeda Coming Soon Again in New York." Paul Browne, a New York Police Department spokesperson commented that the image appeared to be the "artwork and design" of a shadowy site that hosts view on terror and related subjects.
Fox Sports quoted Browne as saying, “The NYPD Intelligence Division's cyber unit is investigating the origin and significance of the graphic below which appeared today on few Arabic-language al Qaeda forums that remain online at the moment.”
The FBI spokesperson also added that it will conduct its very own probe into the matter. FBI's New York Field Office spokesperson Peter Donald also stated, “The FBI takes all threats seriously and at this time there is no specific or credible threat to New York.”
More recently key al Qaeda forums were silenced in the US starting Mar 23.
