Hyderabad, Mar 29: Andhra Pradesh has tagged as the most unsafe place among the four South Indian states, topping a list prepared by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in number of cases of crimes against women.
According to data collected by NCRB, Andhra Pradesh accounted for 1,257, 1,189 and 1,362 rape cases since last three years. Report said that Andhra Pradesh has more than double the number of cases registered when compared to the other three states- Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Moreover, Andhra Pradesh reported the highest incident of sexual harassment with 4,562 cases followed by Karnataka with 83 and Tamil Nadu with 537 cases.
Reports further claimed that Karnataka is the safest place for women, as the least number of cases in both categories of rape and sexual harassment has been reported from the state.
