Kanpur, Mar 21: The youngest Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh landed in soup when his party workers showed the glimpse of their goondaraj after Samajwadi Party worker killed a taxi driver over Rs 300.
The incident took place in Pankhi area of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh where ruckus started following the murder. The taxi driver, who has been identified as Ankit Yadav, was beaten to death by Prashant Tiwari, a Samajwadi Party worker.
The duo were engaged in a fight when Mr Tiwari demanded Rs 300 from the driver who reportedly parked his car near Mr Tiwari's hotel. When the driver refused to pay the money, Mr Tiwari started beating him (driver) with a stick.
The driver was rushed to a near by hospital but he was declared brought dead. The angry relatives of the driver later set fire on Mr Tiwari's hotel and adjacent shops. Police lathicharged on the mob to control them.
Police registered a murder case against Mr Tiwari who is absconding now. The gruesome murder on Wednesday, Mar 21 will surely harm the image of Akhilesh who claims that maintaining law and order in the state would be his first and utmost priority.
