Mumbai, Feb 26: Ailing Kingfisher Airlines may not operate direct flights to some major cities and several Tier-II cities in coming days.
The carrier has submitted a revised network schedule to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Meanwhile, the revised schedule would be effective after receiving DGCA approval only.
Sources said that, the cash-strapped carrier would not operate direct flights to some major cities and several Tier-II cities including Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Nagpur and Hyderabad.
The Kingfisher passengers who like to travel to such destinations would have to be routed through other cities like its base in Mumbai or Bangalore.
According to revised schedule, the airlines will fly 175 flights a day on domestic routes and 24 flights a day on international routes with 28 air-craft.
Moreover, due to massive disruption of flight operation since last few months the airline was likely to lose several prime flying slots. A flying slot is actually a period of time within which a plane has to take-off.
