Kingfisher crisis:More flights cancelled

New Delhi, Feb 20: The woes of Kingfisher airlines continued on the third day as more flights were cancelled in Bangalore and Mumbai, while two others were rescheduled on Monday, Feb 20.

This comes after the airlines cancelled as many as 50 flights on Sunday, Feb 19. The operations of the airlines have been shut till Mar 3 in Kolkata.

The series of flight cancellations by the airlines have not gone down well with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) which has asked for an inquiry into the matter, seeking full report. Reports reveal that the airlines may even face cancellation of its licence.

Kingfisher airlines has been cancelling their flights without even informing passengers beforehand initiating the DGCA to look into the matter. Sources reveal that cancelling scheduled flights without informing the aviation regulator is a violation of rules.

"We are not going to pull out operations from any base and about 10 aircraft will be back in service soon. We are in talks with investors and the airline will soon get recapitalized," said Sanjay Aggarwal, CEO, Kingfisher Airlines.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Kingfisher airlines has been summoned and will appear in the court tommorrow. Reports also reveal that the pick and drop facility for the Kingfisher staff has stopped.
