Kannauj, Feb 15: Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh on Tuesday has promised to pressurise the Centre for reservations to backward Muslims and inclusion of 17 castes in scheduled caste list.
"We will pressurise the Centre for ensuring reservation to Muslims and if needed an amendment in the law will be made... The party will also ensure that 17 castes are included in the SC category," Yadav said. Read More: (Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2012).
Accusing the Congress for misguiding the Muslim community in the name of reservations. He added that only his government could help the community in acquiring their rights. He appealed the voters to get all party voters elected as it was the constituency of SP state president Akhilesh Yadav.
He criticized the BSP government, claiming that the development work took a backseat during her regime.
