Ahmedabad, Feb 13: The crucial court order on the closure report submitted by Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been reserved till Wednesday, Feb 15. The special metropolitan court reserved the order on Monday, Feb 13.
Meanwhile, officials of SIT claimed that they will not share the copy of the closure report with the social activist - Teesta Setalvad and her lawyer Mukul Sinha.
"They (the activists) have 'no locus in the case'," said the investigating panel while opposing the demand of sharing closure report on the 2002 Gulbarga Society massacre.
Meanwhile, Teesta Setalvad, who is mostly known for her anti-Narendra Modi activities, claimed that she was receiving death threats ever since the SIT report on the 2002 riots was submitted to the Gujarat court.
Here it can be recalled that The report was based on the complaint filed against Modi and others in the 2002 riots case. According to sources, the SIT in its closure report mentioned that they had not found any prosecutable evidence against Modi to name him an accused in the case.
The SIT filed its closure summary before the metropolitan court on the case filed by Zakia Jafri, the widow of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jafri.
Modi along with 62 other accused has been relieved in the case filed by Zakia. The Supreme Court had earlier ordered the SIT to probe the allegation made by Zakia on the Gulbarg Society massacre that saw the death of 67 people. She had stated that there was a larger conspiracy behind the attacks.
The probe agency headed by former CBI chief R K Raghavan could not find any evidence on this to make Modi and others culpable.
