Now ID cards a must for train journey from Feb 15

Lucknow, Feb 9: Passengers travelling in trains will now have to carry identification proof cards, said Neeraj Sharma, Senior DCM, Lucknow, NR.

"This has been done to keep a check on passengers travelling on transferred tickets," he said.

The rule will come into effect from Feb 15, for passengers issued tickets from the internet (i-ticket), Passenger Reservation System, undertaking journey in AC chair car, AC-2tier, AC-3 tier and executive classes. As of now, only passengers travelling on a tatkal or an e-ticket are required to carry I-cards.

Passengers can carry along their Photo identity card, Voter ID Card, PAN card, DL, Passport, with the state/central government issued serial number, aadhar card, student id card with photograph issued by recognized school/college, bank issued credit cards with laminated photograph, nationalised bank passbook with photograph.

Passengers failing to carry the required proof will be treated as 'Without Ticket' and charged accordingly.

To generate awareness among the passengers, the railways will soon start printing the message on the tickets.

Indian Railways can make good amount of profit now also if Corruption in Railways is stopped totally. It is high time that the Laws for prevention of Corruption must be made deterrent.The Corrupted Official must be awarded punishment within a week by the special court.The Minimum Punishment for Corrupted Politician and Corrupted Officers must be hanged to death in Public.At the same time his property must be taken over by Government.

E-ticket must be train timing printed.Some times it is not printed on e-ticket.
