New Delhi, Feb 4: The much-anticipated verdict has finally been pronounced at the special CBI court that has let Home Minister P Chidambaram off the hook in the 2G spectrum scam. Judge OP Saini who made the landmark decision rejected Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy's petition to make Chidambaram a co-accused in the 2G scam.

The verdict was met with varied responses from politicians and leaders across political parties. Some of the responses are given below -

BJP's Jaswant Singh : "If you are thick skinned anything is a reprieve. The issue is much larger than the Congress or BJP. The issue is the governance of India. The cancellation of 122 licenses puts a question mark on one of the great success stories of India - the telecom revolution."

BJP's Balbir Punj: "BJP's demand stands, Chidambaram should resign from his office immediately."

Journalist Arun Shourie : "Order is a great relief for Congress & setback for Opposition."

Congress' Ambika Soni: I am happy that the court order has backed the truth. Mr Subramanian Swamy lives of the media, he is doing all this to keep his presence alive."

Union Minister Kapil Sibal: "Let Swamy appeal to every higher court. He will have to appeal to God after that."

Congress spokesperson, Manish Tiwari: "No question of moral responsibility."

Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee: "It's a good judgement, relief for the govt. I welcome the judgement."

Lawyer Ram Jethmalani: "The 2G court order is not a relief for Chidambaram and is only the beginning of trouble for him in the scam."

Law Minister Salman Khurshid: "Must respect Court order, our stand is vindicated."

It seems in India corruption at high places does pay, provided you are an innteligent person and know to push the blame onto others. In other words the so called learned judge Saini means to say that Raja took this stupiod country of 1.2 billion souls single handedly to the cleaners to wash off 1.76 crores rupees of the people of this country and the collective responsibilty or IRRESPONSIBILITY had a field day. Sorry for the country folks, they are in for a grueeling career ala Egypt or worst S

God is meant for good people and not culprits. The culprits will not fear the courts or God.

If God were there, all the corrupt politicians and their supporters like Kapil Sibal would have been punished by now. Will of the people like it happened in Egypt & Libya would only see the end of Unethical politicians / Government servants of India. There is an unethical bank in India by name Punjab National Bank which also needs to be punished when the other unethical lot get their due.
