Major setback for Yeddyurappa; Karnataka HC rejects plea

Bangalore, Jan 31: It might prove as a major setback for the former Chief Minister of Karnataka - BS Yeddyurappa as Karnataka High Court on Tuesday, Jan 31 rejected his plea regarding two corruption cases.

Yeddyurappa, earlier had moved the High Court asking the court to quash the investigation against him by the Lokayukta. The Lokayukta of the state has been investigating the two cases against the former CM over illegal land denotification.

Yeddyurappa was summoned by court regarding the same case and when he failed to appear before the court, he was arrested and sent to jail.

After spending 25 days in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bangalore, he was released on interim bail.

Bangalore, Jan 17: The Karnataka High Court on Monday posted to Tuesday the anticipatory bail applications of former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and housing minister V Somanna in connection with an alleged land scam case.Justice Subhash B Adi posted the matter after hearing the matter and conclusion of submissions by special public prosecutor Lokayukta TM Gayatri.Besides Yeddyurappa and Somanna, the latter's wife had also sought relief in the case. Earlier, the court sought clarifications from complainant Ravi Krishnareddy on the credibility of his complaint.....
