Mumbai, Jan 30: The Indian rupee fell by 11 paise to Rs 49.42 per US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Monday, weighed down by dollar gains against other currency rivals.
Forex dealers said besides dollar gains against other Asian currencies, a weak opening in the stock market amid foreign fund outflows put pressure on the Indian rupee.
The Indian rupee had ended at a 12-week high at 49.31/32 against the US currency in previous session. The BSE benchmark Sensex open lower by 152.94 points at 17,081.04 in opening trade today.
