New Delhi, Jan 27: Gold surged by Rs 535 to Rs 28,305 per 10 grams on Friday on frantic buying by stockists and jewellers for the marriage season, amid a sharp rally in global markets. Silver followed suit and spurted by Rs 1,770 to Rs 56,970 per kg on increased offtake by industrial units and coins manufacturers. The Trading sentiment for gold bolstered as it rose to a seven-week high in global markets as the US Fed keeping the borrowing costs.....

Rupee up 31 paise against dollar in early trade

Mumbai, Jan 27: The rupee strengthened by 31 paise to trade at fresh 10-week high of 49.77 against the dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market in early trade on Friday, supported by continued foreign fund inflows. Forex dealers said consistent dollar inflows and euro's gains against the US currency overseas supported the rupee. The rupee had ended flat at 50.08/09 against the dollar on Wednesday. The forex market was closed yesterday. Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex shot up.....

Oil prices higher in Asian trade

Singapore, Jan 27: Oil rose in Asian trade on Fiday on expectations the US economy saw robust growth in the final quarter of 2011, analysts said, while tensions between the West and Iran also supported prices. New York's main contract, West Texas Intermediate crude for delivery in March, gained 31 cents to USD 100.01 a barrel in morning trade. Brent North Sea crude for March delivery was up 34 cents at USD 111.13. "Crude markets are holding steady, with prices.....

Gold declines by Rs 160, silver by Rs 100 on global cues

New Delhi, Jan 25: Gold declined for the second straight day in the bullion market here on Wednesday and lost Rs 160 to Rs 27,770 per 10 grams, while silver shed Rs 100 to Rs 55,200 per kg on weak global cues. Traders said gold declined due to sustained selling by stockists in tandem with a weakening global trend and silver lost strength on reduced offtake by industrial units. In New York, gold fell by $ 9.90 to $ 1,666.40 an ounce last.....
