Google India celebrates 63 years of Republic day with colourful doodles on its home page on Thursday, Monday 26.

The three decorated elephants carrying two children each along with a tricoloured umbrella on it's back, making a reference to National Bravery Award winning children and a parade in Rajpat, New Delhi on the day of Republic.

In 2011 nineteen children of the 24 with brave hearts will partiucpate in the parade at New Delhi. PM Moanmohan Singh this year, on Jan 23, awarded a group of selected children for their fearless gesture in setting up an exemplary way at the very tender age. And five children awarded posthumously.

The National Bravery Award Scheme was initiated by the Indian Council for Child Welfare. Every year children from different states are being selected for this categorie based on their striking deed of bravery, meritorious service and to inspire other children to emulate their example.

And the theme of the Goggle logo at the background on this special occasion appears to be rangoli.

Though this Google doodles of the Republic Day was clickable, unlike previous doodles it has no audio or video to play, get the Republic Day related search results instead.

In India, Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950.

Pleasant Republic Day for Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 26: It was a pleasant though nippy Republic Day for Delhiites on Thursday, Jan 26 as the minimum temperature remained above normal and sun shone brightly despite a thin layer of fog in the morning. The low was recorded at 9.3 degree Celsius, a degree above normal and up by 0.3 degree from yesterday's 9 degree Celsius.
