It's raining laptops worth Rs 60K; swindler caught in act

Bangalore, Jan 25: A sales manager accused of selling off laptops meant for free distribution among poor children in Bangalore, has been arrested by Bangalore police.

According to media reports, accused named Harsha Rangarajan, working as a sales manager for a reputed laptop manufacturing company was entrusted with the work of disseminating the laptops to poor children through three NGOs.

The reputed firm had been carrying out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme under which 900 laptops were to be distributed to poor children through three NGOs.

According to police, accused was selling laptops worth Rs 60,000 each at 25 to 30 per cent discount. Moreover, police has seized nearly Rs 30 lakh cash and 567 new laptops from Rangaranjan.

In an investigation, cops found the fudged documents produced by accused to show that he had indeed given away the laptops to the NGOs in free of cost. Meanwhile, sales manager has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.
