Lucknow, Jan 24: Mayawati again has entered into a fresh controversy after she sacked ministers from her government. Congress questioned Mayawati that if there is no irregularities then why she sacked ministers from her ministry.
"If there was no scam, why would she make her ministers resign? Central government keeps releasing money on the basis of provisional bills and invoices. The final auditing takes time. The CBI has carried out investigations for over a year...," said Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Congress spokesperson.
Congress mainly aimed at sacked BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha, who was convicted in a multi-crore scam related to the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) under Mayawati's regime.
On Monday, Sunil Verma, key accused in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam shot himself in Lucknow. Verma was associated with the construction and design division of Uttar Pradesh government.
While, Mayawati alleged that UPA government over the NHRM scam and said that centre was responsible for the financial irregularities. "NRHM is an independent department. Why did they (the Centre) keep releasing money if there was wrongdoing?" said Mayawati.
