Rupee gains 15 paise against dollar in early trade

Mumbai, Jan 19: The rupee strengthened by 15 paise to Rs 50.23 per US dollar in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange today on dollar selling by exporters and capital inflows.

Dealers said euro's gains on IMF plans to expand its lending resources to counter Europe's debt crisis against the American currency overseas, also kept the rupee sentiment firm.

The rupee had jumped 35 paise to close at a fresh two-month high of Rs 50.38/39 in yesterday's session, on the back of sustained capital inflows. Meanwhile, the BSE 30-share index, Sensex, rose by 206.02 points or 1.25 per cent to 16,657.49 in early trade.

Mumbai, Jan 17: The rupee strengthened by 32 paise to 51.05 per dollar on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market in early trade on Tuesday, supported by continued foreign fund inflows. Oil prices higher in Asia on Iran fears

Singapore, Jan 17: Oil prices climbed in Asian trade today on fresh worries over tension between Western powers and major producer Iran. New York's main contract, West Texas Intermediate crude for delivery in February, gained 89 cents to USD 99.59 in morning trade. Brent North Sea crude for March delivery was up 37 cents at USD 111.71.
