Google to splash out ads to take on online privacy

San Francisco, Jan 18: Web giant Google in a bid to tackle online privacy will now start rolling out advertisements.

Reports reveal that educational ads will now appear across dozens of newspapers and magazines in the US. Apart from billboards within the subways of Washington and New York, various websites will also flash across advertisements.

Issues like online privacy and security in the Good To Know ads will also be addressed by Google.

While critics feel that the search engine complies too much of personal data about its users and is not too cautious about protecting sensitive data, Google said that the initiative was a public service.

We are not totalitarian regime like China: Google India to HC

New Delhi, Jan 16: Google India, which along with 20 websites is facing criminal case for allegedly hosting objectionable materials, told the Delhi High Court that blocking them was not an option as democratic India does not have a "totalitarian" regime like China. Websites in danger, Google, Facebook summoned in Delhi HC

New Delhi, Jan 16: After its warning, the Delhi High Court on Monday, Jan 16 summoned 21 websites including Google and Facebook over posting of obscene content in the sites controversy.Earlier the high court warned the two popular sites to check its content. The court had warned the sites that it will block them if they do not remove and restrict obscene contents in their sites.
