Stage set for Bhaichung Bhutia adieu match in New Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 10: Former Indian Football skipper Bhaichung Bhutia will don the national colours one last time when Indian Football Team encounters European giants Bayern Munich in his farewell friendly match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on Tuesday, Jan 10.

Bhaichung, who took the Football game to the greater heights in the country had retired from international football last year in Aug after playing for 16 years since 1995.

Meanwhile, the exhibition match will be the last match for Indian football star as captain and player. Indians football fans will witness a quail of international football stars such as Philipp Lahm, Arjen Robben,Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Mueller and Mario Gomez in the Bayern Munich ranks.

Bayern are among the top sides in Europe having won UEFA Champions League four times and they are expected to beat the Indian team, to be led by Bhaichung, hands down but captain Philipp Lahm refused to predict the margin of victory.

MP women throwball team bags second slot in national tourney

Chennai, Jan 2: The fourth seed Israeli pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram breezed past the inexperienced Indian doubles pairing of Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash and Ramkumar Ramanathan in the first round of the doubles event of the Aircel Chennai Open 2012 on Monday.
