26/11: Centre sanctions chargesheet against David Headley

New Delhi, Dec 21: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday gave sanction to the National Investigation Agency to file chargesheet against nine people including Lashkar-e-Taiba operative David Coleman Headley and two ISI officials, who were found guilty in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

Headley has already pleaded guilty in a US court for plotting the deadly terror attack that left 166 people dead.

A Mumbai magistrate court has requested the US Court to enable Mumbai police to interrogate Headley and his accomplice Tahawwur Hussain Rana over the attacks.

Last year, the NIA team had interrogated David Headley, where he had revealed the details of his visit to India.

Pakistani-Canadian Tahawwur Hussain Rana was convicted for helping Headley to use his business for plotting the attack.

New Delhi, Nov 29: Home Minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday said that India had asked US about David Coleman Headley 's links to US State Agencies but it denied to provide any information.

Chidambaram is in full accord with former Home Secretary GK Pillai's statement that US knew more about 26/11 attacks than what was told to India by them.

Mumbai, Nov 20: A metropolitan magistrate's court had issued the letters rogatory to a US court, Mumbai city police are still awaiting the access to David Headley and his alleged accomplice Tahawwur Rana for their alleged involvement in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

"We had sent the LR to the Chicago court (that tried Headley). But, as of now, there is no response from there," said Himanshu Roy, Joint police commissioner (Crime).

"We want to question Headley and Rana, which will.....
