Vinod Kumar wins Tata Open Golf

Jamshedpur, Nov 27: Delhi’s Vinod Kumar emerged champion of the 10th Tata Open Golf at Beldih golf course here on Sunday.

Kumar produced three under 68 in the fourth round totalling eight under 276 (68-76-64-68) to earn the prize money of Rs 8,08,250. Vivek Bhandari (70-65-73-69) and former Asia No 1 Jyoti Randhawa (71-65-68-73) tied at seven under 277 to become richer by Rs 4,35,750 each.

While Bhandari scored two under 69 in the final round, Randhawa produced two over 73. Colombo-based Mithun Perera’s (69-69-69-71), who scored two under 69 on Saturday, totalled six under 278 for the fourth place.

Atwal misses cut at McGladrey Classic

St Simons Island (USA), Oct 15: Indian golfer Arjun Atwal missed the cut at the McGladrey Classic after returning a disappointing two-over 72 in the second round here. Atwal ended three-over overall, four shots off the cut which came at one-under. Webb Simpson shot a three-under 67 and at 130, he was two shots behind leader Billy Horschel (64), who picked up four shots in his last four holes. Simpson and Luke.....

Chopra in joint lead, Gangjee tied 17th on Nationwide

Miami (USA), Oct 14: Indian-origin Swede golfer Daniel Chopra grabbed a share of the lead after firing a sparkling eight-under 63 in the opening round of the Nationwide Tour's Miccosukee Championship here.Chopra shared the lead with Jason Kokrak, another player who has a win in Nationwide this year.Rahil Gangjee also shot a good round of four-under 67 and was lying 17th with six others.Gangjee began with a bogey on the first but found birdies on the third, fifth and seventh, but a bogey on.....
