Jharkhand state boxing championship on Nov 30

Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Nov 27: Kamani Memorial Cup 7th Jharkhand State Boxing Championship will begin at JRD Tata Sports complex here on 30 November.

A total of 247 pugilists including 40 women from 20 districts and four institutes including South Eastern Railway Boxing Club at Chakradharpur, Tata Boxing Centre and Tata Urban Services will vie for top honour during the three-day meet, Anand Sen President of Jharkhand Boxing Association (JBA) said here today.

Addressing a press conference, he said the competition will take place in ten weight categories for senior and junior men and women sections. He said the bouts will be conducted by 35 neutral refrees from Indian Boxing Federation.

New Delhi, Oct 11: The youngest World Championships medallist in Indian boxing, teen sensation Vikas Krishan says the bronze he notched up in the recently-concluded mega-event in Azerbaijan was a bonus after he achieved his main target of qualifying for next year's London Olympics.
