National record in weightlifting

Itanagar, Nov 24: A new national record was created on Wednesday in Snatch event under 62 kg category (boy) in the ongoing seventh Youth National Weightlifting Championships at Nirjuli near here. Achyutananda Sahoo of Orissa created a new national record by lifting 102 kg in the snatch event breaking the earlier record set during the day by Arunachalee weightlifter Hitlar Sorom Tagru, who lifted 101 kg.

Arunachal Pradesh clinched three gold medals, eight silver and a bronze till today. In Youth (Boy) 69 kg category, Kojum Taba from Arunachal today clinched three gold medals by lifting 103 kg in Snatch, 130 kg in Clean

Itanagar, Nov 4: Arunachal Pradesh is all set to host the National Weightlifting Championship beginning from November 21, Arunachal Weightlifting Association (AWA) announced here today (Nov 4). India sign off Commonwealth Wrestling C'ships on high note

New Delhi, Oct 15: Indian lifters signed off their campaign in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships on a high note by adding as many as nine more gold medals on the fifth and final day of the event in Cape Town.Apart from nine gold, India also bagged six silver medals yesterday, to return home with a whopping 110 medals, including 53 yellow metals, from the championships.
