Skype offers Facebook-to-Facebook video calling

London, Nov 18: World's most popular video calling software, Skype on Friday (today) updated its Skype 5.4 Beta for Mac and 5.7 Beta for windows which allows one to have a Facebook-to-Facebook call within Skype.

The latest development in the VoIP giant will help remove communication barriers making it easier to connect with friends, family and colleagues.

Rick Osterloh, Vice President of Product at Skype, said in a blog post, "Our approach to social is about personal connections with people. We are on a mission to connect over one billion people and our continued partnership with Facebook brings us one step closer to this goal."

Skype's new update will also allow its Mac users to do video rendering, which gives a smoother video experience and group screen sharing for Windows users with a Premium subscription. The group screen sharing will be available only for Mac users.

New York, Nov 17: Many Internet companies on Thursday (today) displayed "censored" stamps on their logos against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). Mozilla Firefox, Reddit, Metafilter, and 4chan are among the sites opposing the bill.The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on Oct 26, 2011 by representative Lamar Smith and a bipartisan group of 12 initial co-sponsors. Google to offer online music download store

London, Nov 16: World's Internet search giant, Google Inc is all set to launch an online music download store offering songs from three major companies namely Sony Corp's Sony Music Entertainment, Vivendi SA's Universal Music Group and EMI Music, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.The online music download store is expected to launch on Wednesday (today) evening. San Francisco, Nov 15: Ilya Zhitomirskiy, one of the founders of the social networking site Diaspora, died at the age of 22.
