Los Angeles, Nov 7: In a bid to grab more attention on their respective brands, Disney and YouTube are cutting a deal for web videos, said reports.

According to reports, the two major media companies are expected to announce a partnership on Nov 7 in which they will spend $10 million-15 $million on original video series, said a report in the New York Times.

It is also reported that Disney will produce the shorts that will be distributed on YouTube and likewise on co- branded channel on Disney.com. An amatuer video picked from torrent will also be uploaded to YouTube daily by the channel.

Disney which is also working on the renovation of its website has said that its own brand is not powerful enough to pull kids looking for videos online, whereas YouTube is a web giant.

"It's imperative to go where our audience is," said James A. Pitaro, co-president of Disney Interactive.

He added that the idea is to "bring Disney's legacy of storytelling to a new generation of families and Disney enthusiasts on the platforms they prefer."

This apparently is Disney's step towards increasing its viewership on the cyber space and in a way will sure attract new advertisers for both the companies .
