Angry Birds emerge as world's fastest selling mobile game

London, Nov 5: The popular mobile game, Angry birds has been downloaded more than 500 times since its release back in Dec 2009, cementing its position as the world's fastest selling mobile game. Rovio, the company that developed the game revealed that, they are planning to release a movie version of the game in 2015.

Announcing the 500 million milestone, Rovio on Saturday (today) said there were no signs of slowing down for Angry Birds, which is available on the iPhone and Android smartphone platforms, as well as Apple's iPad and Windows PC.

"This is a fantastic landmark achievement for us, and we're extremely delighted to see such an incredible amount of people enjoying our games," said Mikael Hed, chief executive of Rovio.

Rovio raised $42 million from venture capital firms earlier in the year. The company also expanded the brand merchandising for Angry Birds to toys and baby products. Rovio is also said to be looking to making a full feature film based on the Angry Birds franchise.
