Govt ignores Kashmir, not Google

Jammu, Nov 2: World's Internet search giant, Google Inc's global entrepreneurship outreach division, together with American charity Mercy Corps will organise G|Kashmir, an event aimed to provide Kashmiri students, businesses, marketing executives, techies, developers, entrepreneurs and Internet enthusiasts a chance to engage directly with the "latest and greatest" from Google.

Organising group Mercy Corps' Kashmir head, Usman Ahmad said, around 800 people from the Valley will participate in the event - G|Kashmir, which will be held on Nov 3 at SK International Convention Centre in Srinagar.

"Featuring customized content, the G|Kashmir event will equip participants with tips, tricks and tools to win digitally. The event will provide training on using digital tools to spur technology innovation, business and entrepreneurship in Kashmir," Google has said.

In the G|Ksahmir event, the YouTube enthusiasts will also get expert advice on how to create and market content. Same time, Kashmiri entrepreneurs will get the chance to show their business ideas and help them carry foward the ideas.

Google team will also attend an interaction session with the students, entrepreneurs and IT professionals. The event is a non-government initiative for market assessment in Kashmir.
