Life in A Day movie released in YouTube, Google rocks

New Delhi, Nov 1: The technology giant Google finally released the movie - Life in a Day, directed by by Oscar winner Kevin Macdonald in YouTube.

Life in A Day is believed as one of the most unusual films - a project conceived by YouTube and carried out by the movie and TV company run by acclaimed directors Ridley and Tony Scott - Scott Free Productions.

While releasing the movie in YouTube, Google posted on its official blog, "On July 24, 2010, thousands of people around the world recorded videos of their lives to take part in Life in a Day, a cinematic experiment to document a single day on earth. From more than 4,500 hours of footage recorded and uploaded to YouTube."

The movie is available on YouTube with subtitles of 25 different languages including Hindi. The authorities asked the YouTube users to film their activities in a day and also asked them to send the video-footage.

The officials made the 90-minute movie based on the video footage of 80,000 hours. According to sources, the film makers expected to receive a video footage of some 10,000 hours but surprisingly they received video footage of 80,000 hours.

Google+ still a challenge to Facebook

London, Oct 22: The newly launched Google+ is still going toe-to-toe with world's most popular social networking site Facebook. "We are in an enviable position that we have people who come to Google," Vic Gundotra, vice president in charge of Google+ said at a Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.
