F1 fraternity welcomes India to the world of fastest sport

Greater Noida, Oct 29: Many international teams have deeply welcomed India, the brand new destination of in Formula one, to the world of fastest sport. Moreover, the response were postive and encouraging from international teams.

"For Renault, India is a strategic market for the future. We have three strategic markets — India, Russia and Brazil — in the future. So, to race here is very important. We are building a huge factory in Chennai and it is a pleasure to race here and I hope that the engine will be, probably, winning," said Renault managing director Jean Francois Caubet.

For Indian-turned-Austrian and co-owner of Sauber, Monisha Kaltenborn, coming back to the country of her roots was a special experience. “I am very excited to have this now between the job and the country where I come from," she said. Monisha appreciated the Indian media for the extensive and exclusive coverage of F1 in the build-up to the race's debut in the country.

Vijay Mallya, co-owner of home team Sahara Force India, said the Indian Grand Prix was a dream come true for him. "Over 30 years ago, I drove my Ensign F1 car here and I never thought I would ever see an F1 car race around India."

"When I acquired Spyker, I renamed it Force India and there was a lot of strategy and meaning behind it as it was meant to put India on the F1 map," he said.

Mallya further said that, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) General Assembly which will be held in Delhi from December 5-9 this year, would also boost the sport in the country.

First F1 insult, Metallica organisers arrested for fraud

Gurgaon, Oct 29: In what can be called as the first let down in the run up to the maiden Formula One races in India, the live jig of American heavy metal band Metallica was cancelled. In a further insult, four organisers of the show, believed to be from the DNA Network were arrested for cancelling the show without any tangible reason. They are also being charged for fraud for cancelling without prior notification. Expected to be a "loud and explosive" performance,.....

F1: Lady Gaga's concert tickets priced Rs 40,000, sold out

Mumbai, Oct 28: Tickets for the F1 after party concert in Greater Noida on Sunday, Oct 30, which will be performed by Lady Gaga, have been completely sold out, said Arjun Rampal, bollywood actor, businessman, who is organising the event.."The maximum capacity for the party is 1,000, and Gaga's show is completely sold out," Arjun said.The F1 after party will take place at Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh."I am finally here + what a dream come true......
