iPhone 4S turns as a tribute to Steve & threat to BlackBerry

Steve Jobs with an iPhone product
New York, Oct 15: Apple stores on Friday witnessed a long line of customers, weathering the storm by enduring cold temperature and rain for over nine hours to pocket the latest iPhone, a first Apple launch since the death of Steve Jobs.

The ex-CEO's death was one of the crucial aspects which drew consumers to the Apple store. The launch of iPhone 4S was touted as a tribute to one of the greatest all-time visionaries, Steve Jobs. Some people even said this latest release stood "for Steve".

The new iPhone, which hit markets in seven countries is faster than the earlier model and comes with better software features and an improved camera.

While Apple is finding it tough to deal with the excitement of consumers, BlackBerry somehow helped the former to raise the sales. Following the BlackBerry blackout, which prevented mobile internet access to its users for three successive days, would surely provide a concrete reason for the latter's users to switch onto iPhone.

BlackBerry users were tweeting and updating their Facebook status as they were bugged by the downtime, so they are picking up the new iPhone. Also, some people were rejoicing in their tweets as they got a BlackBerry handset from upset users for cheap price.

Will BlackBerry manage to get out of the woods? Can it regain the trust of disappointed customers? Or will it lose the battle to iPhone and Android? Have to wait and see.
