Facebook Timeline: Major redesign unveiled on Thursday

Facebook
San Fransisco, Sept 23: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced "Timeline" at the annual f8 developers conference in San Francisco calling it "the story of your life". Zuckerberg claimed that Timeline changes the way Facebook presents users' information.

It presents "all your stories, all your apps, and a new way to express who you are," Zuckerberg said adding, "It's a way to tell all the important stories from your life on a single page," Zuckerberg said.

In Timeline, you can see everything that has been shared recently. Users can click on a year in the timeline, and it scrolls down to that year. Years will also get broken down by month. Users can roll their mouse over a point in time, and they instantly get the option to add photos, notes, and other items.

Facebook is also trying to change how people get news. Facebook's partnerships with news outlets such as The Washington Post and The Daily, will enable users to see what their friends are reading and read those stories on the social networking site.
