Google throws open door of Google Plus to all

New York, Sept 21: This was just the piece of news social networking enthusiasts wanted to hear as Google Inc will throw open its doors to Google Plus to everyone. The search engine giant had limited its membership during the testing period of 12 weeks.

The announcement was made by Google in its blog post that said the services of Google Plus can now be availed by all. Earlier, the service was available by invitation only. The popularity of Google plus catapulted after a few weeks with hectic request for invites.

The new feature that has been added to the popular Google Plus is a search capability that allows users to crawl through posts on the site.

Launched as Google's answer to Facebook, Google Plus hopes to compete with global social networking leader Facebook. With Facebook enjoying a user base of close to 750 million users, it sure looks like a tough fight to the top with Facebook almost enjoying a monopoly in the social networking platform.

The latest announcement from the Google stable throwing open its doors for all comes days ahead of Facebook's f8 conference in San Francisco which will see Facebook unveiling its latest features on the site. [Read: Facebook got 25 million in 3 yrs, Google reaches in 1 month]

Clubbing social networking with technology, Google Plus has made its "Hangouts" feature available on smartphones with front-facing cameras. This feature enables users to broadcast their videos online or view these videos as spectators. The feature currently works on phones that runs on Google's Android system. They have also claimed that support for Apple devices is in the pipeline .

Another exciting new service called "Hangouts On Air" lets users to broadcast their videos online or view these videos as spectators. Limiting its number of broadcasters for a while, Google plans to launch the service with much gusto. Google's first such hang out will see Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am. perform on Wednesday night.

Bangalore, Aug 15: Hello Google Plus users - here is a warning message for you, If you're not using your real names, Google will kick you out!! According to Google's new rule, if a a person is not using his/her real name, the profile will be removed after four days given to clean up the act.It seems Google is trying to implement the motto behind their social networking website Google+, which "aims to make sharing on the web more like sharing in real.....
